Acceptance

Acceptance

You have probably heard Stephen M. Shore's quote, "If you've met one individual with autism, you've met one individual with autism." It is sometimes really tempting to define autism for everyone else. Part of ACCEPTANCE is understanding that autism looks different for everyone, and that it is okay. ACCEPTANCE is vitally important to individuals with autism and their loved ones.

Imagine walking into a situation everyday where you know you are not wanted and that your issues are too much for everyone else to work through. It doesn't matter if it is the the individual with Autism or the caregiver experiencing the stares and whispers, they are hurtful. We all play a part in ACCEPTANCE.
